Structured site analysis to improve raised floor cooling efficiency and save energy costs

The Cool Profile is a service designed to improve the operating efficiency of your existing raised floor cooling infrastructure. One of our trained specialists will travel to your site to do a 1-2 assessment of your data center. The assessment follows a specific procedure designed by the Upsite Institute, an industry leading organization focused on data center cooling. The assessment includes collecting temperature measurements and airflow conditions at the cabinet and CRAC levels.

The Cool Profile will answer the following questions: 
  • How much cooling margin is available to cool additional equipment with the current infrastructure?
  • How much cooling capacity is being wasted to latent cooling and bypass airflow?
  • What are the impacts of latent cooling and bypass airflow on operating efficiency and equipment reliability?
  • What specific steps can be taken to improve the efficiency of the cooling infrastructure to lower operating costs, regain capacity, and improve IT equipment reliability?
This step-by-step analysis has been proven to be very effective in improving cooling efficiency and decreasing energy costs. The resulting report will detail actionable items to make improvements in your data center. Our recommended actions are based on optimizing your existing infrastructure in the existing configuration using proven best practices. These changes are not large capital expenses but can have a big impact on cooling costs. A recent Cold Profile of a co-location data center in the southeast US yielded energy savings of $9000 per month. In fact, we offer a two-part guarantee that we can decrease your energy bill:

1) If we cannot project monthly electric bill savings greater than cost of the assessment, we will not charge you for the the service.
