Thermal Management

One of the hottest issues in data center facilities is heat build up in server cabinets.  Smaller server sizes and greater processing speeds means more power is needed in the cabinet.  More power creates increased heat.  Many data centers are finding that their existing cooling solution is not adequate for the job.  There are three primary options to deal with the situation: 1) Add additional air conditioning (CRAC) units to increase capacity  2)  Add self-contained cooling cabinets for high density applications  3) Maximize and enhance your existing cooling system

The correct choice for you will depend on your specific environment, growth plans and budget realities.  Data Center Resources can work with you help you determine the right solution.

> Active Cooling Solutions
Active Cooling solutions provide a source of cooling to your computer hardware.  These solutions are designed to keep systems at their recommended operating temperature in areas where there is insufficient cooling capacity.  They may serve as a high-density farm within a computer room or they may be a self-contained environment in lieu of traditional raised floor cooling.

> Enhanced Cooling Solutions
Maximizing the efficiency of your existing air conditioning system can provide the extra capacity needed to meet your growing cooling needs.  Floor grommets and blanking panels prevents wasting cooled air in areas it is not needed.  Fans and blowers can direct cooled air to where it can be used most productively.

> Cooling Audits
One of our service consultants will come on-site to gather data on power, temperature, air flow, CRAC units and more.  We will then generate a report with recommendations for improving cooling efficiency. Optional CFD analysis provides excellent visualization of the temperature and air flow in your room.
