Rack Automatic Transfer Switches
|
|
|
The majority of new servers offer dual power supplies to
allow for redundant power supplies. However, many older systems
and some new hardware only have single power cords. An Automatic
Transfer Switch (ATS) is the solution to providing redundancy to these
single cord devices. The ATS has two inputs to allow power
feeds from two separate sources. If the primary power source
fails, the ATS instantaneously switches to the back-up source to prevent
connected hardware from losing power.
